Stupid College Lines 2 1/10/2002
If all else fails, go eat! I went to the cafeteria, which was under the bookstore and I went to the Taco Time there since that was basically all they had. I sat down and saw 2 boys playing cards on a table. I wasn't close enough to see which kind of cards so I watched to see if I could figure it out. Then I saw one of the boys pick up the other's card and read it, and I knew immediately it was Magic the Gathering! I picked up my tray and sat by them to watch. I used to play it at school, but then my deck got stolen. I made another using the best cards I had left and that got stolen too. So then I gave the rest of my cards to Nick. After lunch I went back to where you get the bus pass and told her I can't get a student I.D. because I can't get a schedule, so she guessed it would be alright to give me one based off just my high school I.D. and social security card. Yay! But then she said I need to take this paper she gave me and give it to one of the checkout counters at the bookstore. *takes deep breath and looks at the endless lines behind each checkout counter*. All of them twisted around aisles, and some even ran into others. There was one which was 5 items or less, so I went to find the end of that line. I was told where it was by people who made up the line, and then I decided I might as well buy my packet for the class while I'm there.

The line slowly inched along and we passed different shelves which I examined from boredom. We stood by a wall with cards on it for a while and I found a cute one for Kelli. It took about 45 minutes to get through the line and I'm not exaggerating; I watched the clock. Well, she gave me the bus pass and everything was all fine and dandy. And just in time for my next class to start. I knew where this one was, and I was right by the building for it. Room 209. I first found a sign which pointed to room 206 so I decided to follow that. The building was small and the doors to rooms went all the way around it. I came to room 206, then 207, then 208, then nothing. Hmm. I saw a nearby building connected by a cement bridge and I wondered if it was considered the same building. I thought I would give it a shot. I walked to there and saw room 218 and walked down it to see room 217, then 216, all the way down to room 210 which was at the end. Okay, something is really wrong about this! I went back to the first building and started at room 201. I walked until I found room 208 again and kept walking and found a double door with no number. Then I noticed a sign on it that said room 209. Some other boy was coming in and he agreed that it was about time we found it. I told the teacher that this room was really hard to find and she said she knows. So in there we learned how to log on to the server from home so we can take the online class, and we got to make screen names for ourselves. I tried various Dragon Ball Z names, even saiya-jin, but each time it said it was already taken and it had to add a 1 on the end. It even said that Jaso Smaso was taken! So I figured it was messed up and I did my original choice and had the stupid 1 on the end.

After the class I went to get my schedule and there was no line and all the computers were free and working. Imagine that! I printed it out and went upstairs and got my photo I.D. and only had to wait for 1 person in line, and then I was on my way to the bus station at the college. I looked at my notes that my mom had written which buses to get on, but it didn't say anything about which bus to get on to leave. It only told of which one to get on to leave when it's a normal day and I only have the first class. She didn't take into account that I had the intro class for my online one. I called her and she told me which one, and it was going to be there in 3 minutes. Well, I rode that bus to the Eugene station and got on the next bus and got off at the closest place they stop to my house at night. It was 7pm. So I waited there for my mom. I was on the sidewalk when I saw my dad's car coming from home and stopped at a red light. Now, the road I was on is a rural one and there are only a few side streets. I was standing on the sidewalk at the crosswalk at the same light my dad was stopped at, but he was a lane over and didn't notice me regardless of my waving arms. He pulled into a side street at the light and so I went and sat down at the bus stop to wait for him to come back. He came back to the road, but turned and went toward home! Great, and it was raining too. Good thing the bus stop had a covering, but it was cold. I sat there and thought about how I would write this in my diary. After about 10 minutes he came back and saw me and picked me up.
