My fun day.........grocery shopping? 1/19/2002
Today I worked a later shift at work than usual, so I worked with some people I hadn't worked with before, but Brent was still there, lol. When something like potato cakes or onion petals would come up on the screen, meaning someone ordered them, I would go and put them in the fryer, and then one of the runners (girls who hadn't worked with me before) kept coming back and telling me what needed to be put in the frying. I said I know. I finally went up and asked who did the fryer on the night shift. Nicole, the supervisor, said Juan. Tammy the manager wasn't there today, it was just Nicole who is a little older than I am. I asked how Juan was, and she said he's quick, but he sometimes makes extra stuff and he doesn't know what needs to be fried when an order comes up sometimes. I asked if he was quicker than me, and she said she didn't know.

Well, whenever something needed to be made, I made it and brought it up to where the runners bag stuff, instead of setting it by the fryer and having them come get it like normal. It is out-of-the ordinary to bring it up to them, but I like doing it to save them a trip back here, plus it was slow. After a while, Katie (one of the runners) said that she liked this guy (me) because I bring it up to them. I said "Why thank you. I like you too!" I found out that drinks are free for employees, and I when an order came up I would make the thing real fast and then start drinking and one of the runners would come back to tell me what to make and I would be standing there, leaning against the wall and drinking my Mountain Dew with the order that they needed sitting right in front of them, hehe.

Brent complained that he needed ice on his arms, and I asked why. Then I saw his arms had no hair and I asked him why he shaved it. He said he used Nair. I asked why. He said he was trying to do tiger stripes with it, but it messed up and he had to Nair it all off. He showed me his bare legs too. Great. I was washing dishes in the back and I changed the radio back there to the Alternative/Rock station, and I heard some of the girls asking why Brent got rid of his happy trail also. You know, the trail of hair that goes from you belly button, down. He said "You mean the trail to the magical forest?" The girls cracked up laughing and left, because it was so funny to hear that. I later told him I don't want to ever hear about the magical forest again. He laughed.

So I got home and my dad said he wants me to go to WinCo with my mom. I must have been not thinking because I asked how long it would take. Then it occurred to me.......WinCo. That's a grocery store where my mom takes hours getting stuff. The dreaded WinCo trip. Everyone hates going on it. I guess Amy was crying when my mom said she had to go. She was in a bad mood all day my mom said, but she got happy suddenly when I came home. That's cool. So I agreed to go, and it wasn't that bad at all. It only took an hour and a half, and I got spiker before we went. I saw this girl with multi-colored hair and........Converse All-Star high tops on! Those are my favorite kind of shoes! I wear them. Whenever I see someone with those shoes on, no matter what type of person they are, I go and tell them "nice shoes!" They ALWAYS say thanks and look down at mine. Then they either say "hey, you have the same kind" or they say nothing. She said thanks, but sounded really happy that I came up and complimented her. Well, it was fun, spending time with my mom, even though it was grocery shopping.
