Good Friends:
Marianna |

Note: The "good friends" entries are in order of when
I met them.
I first met Marianna when I was at lunch, sitting with my friends in the cafeteria (wrestlers and football players). I have been friends with them for several years and they all just happened to go into wrestling and football. I came one day and there was this girl sitting with Mark. Mark later broke the school bench record of 320. Big guy. I already knew Maria from earlier in this school year. Anyway I said hi to her, but that's all. I saw her again the next day. That was also the first day of track and field, and of course I went because I am one of the fastest sprinters. Marianna was also in track. I went up and said hi and said that I remember her from lunch. She remembered also, but she said she doesn't really like them. I guess they were teasing her or whatever. They do that sometimes, but they are cool. I found out she was a German exchange student and would be here for the school year. I didn't know anyone else in track so all through it I hung out with her. We would do our track practice together and I would do it faster than her, so I would sometimes do some at her pace after I was done with mine. She was also in my history class and sat right beside me. We got to be good friends and we even went to see a movie together, which at that time, was unusual for me, since I didn't really do things with friends. We saw Frequency, which is a really cool movie. It reminds me of The Sandlot. She got shin splints in track. It's where the muscle comes loose from your shin bone and it's really painful. She said it's like a fork sticking in your shin. As bad as that sounds, it's very common for sprinters to get, in fact it's rare to not get it. You still have to do your track workout however. I told her that I've never had it but I've heard about it, and I would have it instead of you if I could. I really would too. Once she talked to me about boyfriends. She said that it would be really dumb for her to get a boyfriend since she will just be going back to Germany at the end of the year. I agreed. Toward the end of track season, she started going out with this guy named Adam. She liked him, but it was more of a fun thing. I told her about what she said about going out and she said she knows. She went back to Germany soon after. That was my junior year, and she was a junior here in the U.S. but a senior in Germany. At my graduation she showed up and hugged me and it was really great seeing her again. That's the last I saw of her. I hope I see her again sometime. I don't know if she has AIM or anything, but I don't have any way of asking, lol. |
