Why? Why me? Why Putters? 2/20/2002
Okay, how come when I plan to go to Putters to play DDR something always happens to mess things up? Twice I was at the college and the bus I had to take to be able to get to Putters in time to catch the last bus home didn't come, so I had to wait around for the last bus. My mom had me out getting applications and I planned to go to Putters after I was done. It turns out my mom had to come into town and would be picking me up. I told her I was going to go to Putters and she said she would drop me off. It turned out it was too late and we just went home. Another time I was turning in the applications and when I went to go get money for Putters, it happened to be President's Day and the banks are closed.

And today, tops them all. I was at college, Lane Community College (LCC), and the earlier bus came this time. I rode it to the Eugene Station and then went to get on the bus that would take me right in front of Putters. Guess what? I felt my back pocket and no wallet. Great. I either left it on the bus since I take it out whenever I sit down, or it got stolen. To make matters worse, the bus that took me from LCC left immediately after dropping us off and went to the University of Oregon (U of O). My wallet had about $7 in it, my permit, my LCC student body card, and my bus pass! I went to the Costumer Service and the guy said the bus was going to the U of O and that I should take the bus that was going there in like 3 minutes. He said the bus with my wallet would be there and would be the #81 bus. He gave me an all-day pass since I didn't have my pass.

Well, the bus that would take me to the U of O took about 7 minutes and when I got there, there was a bus #81 but without a driver. It was just sitting there. I got another driver to open it up for me so I could look, but no wallet. I went to a seat and waited for the lady of the bus I was on to come back and ask her. I prayed. Finally the driver came and I asked her but she said that this bus wasn't the one I was on, that it had already left. So I got to the U of O too late and the #81 bus I saw was one after that. She called some place to got a hold of the driver of that bus. She got a hold of her and she searched the bus with no results. She told me that most likely someone who got on afterwards took it. She said sometimes wallets turn up in lost and found, but that's rare. So, I took the next bus back to the Eugene Station and got there with little time to spare before the last bus that came by my house would leave. I hurried to the Costumer Service and asked if my wallet had turned up. It hadn't. I left my name and number and then got on the bus home.

In the evening, we got a call saying that the driver found my wallet and it had fallen in the seat. So my wallet isn't lost after all, but it still did it's job in preventing me from going to Putters.
