At Kelli's house 4 4/12/2002
Wednesday: Today was Shakespeare day at Kelli's school and she wore her dress made for that era. She also had the flower headband that she made; she looked so pretty :) After she left, and Joey left too, I got back on the couch and I guess I fell asleep. I was awakened by the phone ringing. I waited for Kelli's parents to answer it. No one did. I discovered they had already left and I was there alone. It was Kelli on the phone asking for batteries because she forgot them for her digital camera. She needed it since people were dressed up. The batteries were in her jacket pocket, but there was only one so I used the ones from my digital camera. She said that it would be a big favor, and I could ride her dad's bike instead of walking. There were 2 bikes so I picked one which turned out to be Curtis's. It had 21 speeds, but the highest one kept messing up to I used the 2nd highest one. I got to Highway 6 and then turned left since I had passed her school on Tuesday when I got the movie. Once I got to the school, I went inside and found out that it was the Jr. high school. She told me the high school was on Highway 6 and she pointed which direction. That was back where I came from, and this was the only school I saw on the way. She told me it was like 3 miles that way. Hmm, I was about 2 miles from when I got onto the highway, so maybe it was a mile past where I got on. I rode about a mile and pulled into a car repair shop and asked where the high school was. They said it was 3 miles in the direction I was going. I finally got there and went into the front office and told them I had something for Kelli. They said she would come at the break. I asked if I could wait there for her and they said it would be 15 minutes, but okay. I asked if I could visit her during lunch and they said no. No visitors permitted unless it's like parents or something. She said that Kelli could leave campus with me at lunch though, since she is a senior. I said that would be fine, and I would just wait until then, which would be about an hour and a half. Kelli came and she got the batteries, and then I rode to the Texaco near the school and got some snacks. Then I went and ate them at a table outside on the side of Texaco. I paced back and forth and thought about different scenes in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. I rested my head on my arms on the table for a while, I even read everything on the car wash signs. Then I went inside and found it was time to go back to the school. I rode there and waited right outside the front office. I asked one of the nearby teachers the time and he told me, and asked why I wanted to know. I told him that one of my friends was going to come eat with me and I wanted to know when lunch was. He asked if I went to school there and I said no. Then he got a forceful tone in his voice and said, "You can't eat lunch here if you don't go here!" He looked like he was some P.E. teacher. I told him that she was going to come off campus with me. I waited some more and then a man with a nice, dark blue, button-up-the-front shirt with a cool-looking tie came to me and asked if he could help me. I told him that my friend who was a senior was going to go off campus and eat lunch with me, and I was waiting for her. He said I have to wait outside. Okay, sure, so I went outside and waited. He came out and said, "No, you have to wait over there," and pointed to the lawn past the driveway in the front of the school. A little later, Kelli and her friend, Jonie, came out and they both had cool medieval dresses. Kelli didn't want to walk anywhere in the dress, so we spent lunch just talking in front of the school, then she had to go. I rode back to her house. Then I remembered that at Joey's baseball practice when their mom and I would talk, she told me that I should go talk to the aunt across the street from their house, since she is all paranoid about me. I think she was kidding, but I decided to anyway, so after I got to their house from riding the bike, I walked over there and passed a window that she was sitting by. She asked what I needed. We ended up talking about stuff through her screen on her window, and she never invited me in. The rest of that night went like the other days...
