Messed up 2! 5/11/2002
...

Friday:

I got a call from Adam, confirming everything. He said he would pick me up in 10 minutes for us both to get our tuxes and my flower for Estella. In the car, he said he needs to go to his doctor's appointment, and also pick up Estella, and then get our tuxes, and that we could only get them after 3. Well, I had to be at work at 4 and I told him and he said he didn't know I had to work today. Great. It was going to work, though, because Wal-Mart is really close to where we get the tuxes. We went and got Estella and Adam told us how he was upset because he got a ticket for speeding and the cop was a jerk. He said that if he ever sees the cop when he's off duty, he'll flip him off. We went to the hospital and waited for his appointment to get over with. Then it was off to the bank to get some money for our tuxedos. Adam said for me to get $120 out because the tux would most likely be around $90-100 with his discount card, and I still needed to buy Estella's flower. At Mr. Formal, it turned out that my tux was $124 WITH the discount, so I paid it and then had to go back to the ATM and get $10 more. Adam listened to Usher in the car (not one of my favorites). We went to Fred Meyer (my dad said it's owned by Kroger) and Estella got some fake fingernails. The people in line took forever, and time was running short. I remembered I still had my Wal-Mart vest and nametag at home, so I would have to go back and get it, taking a lot more time and making it a good chance I would be late. He took me home and I got my stuff and my mom drove because she was taking Amy and her 3 friends somewhere and my mom's nervous about me driving with other people than her or my dad in the car (I don't drive bad either).

At Wal-Mart, I was 15 minutes late, but luckily I found Greg before he left. I could only have tomorrow off for prom if I had someone who didn't work tomorrow cover for me, and I would work one of their shifts later this week. Greg was the only one who didn't work tomorrow. I asked him and he said he needed the weekend off because his ex-wife was taking a trip to Chicago with her boyfriend and he got his 2 daughters for that time. Josh said he might work for me, but he went home before I could really ask him. Grrrr! Anyway, I had to carry out a table for someone from one of the storage trailers. Assistant Manager Alisha had to unlock it for us, but we didn't know which trailer it was in so we ended up looking in all of them! I finally got to carts and they were low. I finally got them filled up and took a 15 minute break. When I got back, one whole row of carts had already been taken (there are 3 rows)! I tried to fill them back up but they were steadily being taken away faster than I could fill them. I took my lunch an hour late because of it. The girl at the in-store restaurant is cool. She likes DBZ a lot and wears that kind of shirts also. She's seen all the episodes except most of the Buu Saga. (DBZ started over BTW, at the very beginning. Yay! Now I can watch all the cool episodes again! And Amy is taping every one of them, meaning if Kelli visits she can watch them! Lol, even though Trunks is Amy's favorite character, she said sometimes, after watching the beginning episodes, she likes it better without Trunks in it.)

The CSM said they could call Josh to ask him if he could work my shift, but it was really busy so they couldn't get to it. I sure hope I can do it tomorrow, otherwise I'll either have to miss the prom or call in sick. Greg said if I go to work and then say I don't feel good, I can leave and be excused, but I'll be unexcused if I call in sick, lol. I skipped my second break so I could get all the carts in before my shift ended. I worked until 12:30. My mom and Andrea came in and shopped a little so I had to wait for them to be driven home. I got home, wanting to talk to Kelli whom I've been deprived of talking to for about 3 days for various reasons, and she wasn't on. :( Oh well, I hope she's happy right now, I don't like the thought of her being sad. And if she's sleeping, she's not sad so I won't worry as much.
