The funeral 7/27/2002
Today was Nick's grandma's funeral. Sis. Janet died of cancer. Her son and Nick's uncle, Bro. Steve, gave the talk and it was more about how she got through to the end like we all are trying to, and how we should follow her example. I was one of the people who helped carry the casket out of the car, and so was Nick. Afterward, we went to Bro. Jim and Sis. Judy's house for a memorial and dinner. Sis. Cora and Sis. Donna were visiting from Idaho and Sis. Cora with her kids was going to stay at Nick's house. Nick asked me to invite him to spend the night since they would be sleeping in his mom's bed, meaning she would sleep in Nick's bed, meaning he would have to sleep on the couch with his brother, Cory. I asked if he could spend the night and my mom okayed it. Then a little later, his mom told him he couldn't spend the night since Ashley was sleeping over at our house. Nick didn't like this one bit so he and I went on a little walk and talked about stuff, mostly agreeing about things we didn't like. We were reaching the end of the street and were going to head back when Bro. Steve and Sis. Valerie's van stopped by us and told us Nick's mom was looking for us and we better get back there right now. When we got back, his mom had already left and told my mom that we were to walk to his house and she would take both of us home. Nick lived a mile away from Bro. Jim. So we ran to his house since it was almost curfew. Nick burned some of the new Linkin Park songs onto a CD, along with some DBZ and Gundam Wing music videos and we were off. My computer's been acting up lately. Well, actually the power in my house. Lights have been flickering and making the computer reboot a whole bunch of times. We need to get this certain kind of surge protector that protects against power drops also.
