Poem - The Photo 9/19/2002

The Photo

Gazing at a memory,
like so many times before,
a comfort to behold,
but still I long for more.

This token offers little tale,
but opens up my mind,
for I beforehand lived a dream,
a jewel left behind.

A fantasy alive with hope,
my wish at last came true,
a raindrop in the sea of time,
yet full of wonder is this dew.

A moment filled with joy and bliss,
where no ill thought survives,
a precious season shared with a friend,
to cherish through our lives.

Brightened with happy smiles,
warmed with sweet embrace,
basking in the calming safety,
serene was each glimpse of her face.

Alas! an end denied it's course,
it's doom a memory,
locked away with pleasant hopes,
this emblem the only key.

thanks for the note :) [Shortypie84]

hmmmm, interesting work. Reminds me of a poem I once did about an object and its meaning to me, mine was much shorter and more 'simple' I guess cause it was just for fun. Good job, doesn't have much or a meter or whatever they call it, but oh well. Nice

That was seriously penetrating. I felt and dreamt every word.
