I woke up sometime around 9:30 with my mom saying for
the boys to get up since it's almost time to go. I wondered if my
younger brothers were going somewhere. About 15 minutes later my mom
was in again telling the time. After that, my mom came in with the
phone and handed it to me and then asked why I'm not getting up for
church. Oh, it's Sunday, I was thinking it was Saturday or
something. Well, Wal-Mart was on the phone. They wanted me to come
in at 2 instead of 4 like I was scheduled for. I said I would come as
close to that as I could. I'm not going to turn down more hours,
especially on Sunday where you get $1 more an hour. I told my mom
that I didn't know it was Sunday, otherwise I would be up already.
It was too late for me to get ready, though, so I was left home with
my dad who wasn't feeling well and Andrea who didn't wake up.
At Wal-Mart, I got there at 2:23 and was told that Jesse hadn't
shown up at 7 like he was supposed to (which made this 2 Sundays in
a row for him) and Shane was the first stockman there at noon. From
what he told me, it sounded like he went through what I did
yesterday, but only for 2 hours, since I came in after that. After I
came on, however, he stopped doing carts and stayed inside, like he
usually does. It wasn't as busy as yesterday, but I still had my
work cut out for me. While I was pushing about 7 carts I saw Carly
walking from her car with Ami and I hurried and pushed the carts in
front of them, blocking their path. Carly jokingly asked if I was
trying to run her over.
When it was almost time for my lunch, Shane came out and helped
me until it was really full inside. I then told him I was going to
lunch and he acknowledged. I went to Subway and the pretty young
lady was there. I found out from her that she's engaged! And she's
18! She's been with her guy for 4 years. Well, some people just find
someone early I guess. Anyway, when I was back at Wal-Mart, I saw
Carly again and stuck my tongue out at her (she used to do that to
me a lot) and she did the same, showing her tongue ring. I commented
on how it's not fair because she has a tongue ring to stick at
people so it's like extra ammo. After that, I saw her again and she
told me that on Tuesday she's going to have to go into town early so
our plans will have to start earlier than just the movie, which is
perfectly fine with me. I'm just glad the plans are still on and
she's not still grumpy from yesterday.
When I came back from lunch, the carts were down to about 10.
Obviously Shane hadn't done anything with them, so I went out and
worked on the mess, which took me almost until I went home to finish
(about 4 hours). Man, the garden side was a disaster area! Anyway,
my dad came and I drove home in the thick fog. When I got home, I
found out that the people who went shopping after dropping me off at
work (my mom, Andrea, Amy and some of her friends, and whoever else
of my family went) got the They Might Be Giants album called
"Flood". I used to have it, but when I went to Texas, if you
remember, I lost them all once I got home, though I knew I had them
when I arrived back in Oregon. So now I'm rebuilding my collection,
starting with their first albums. I already have their first 2 (a
self titled album and "Lincoln" which both include EP B-Sides and
bonus tracks) and now I have their 3rd album: "Flood". Next is
"Apollo 18". Toodles!
