Waking up at 8, I rose from my bed at 8:30, which is
very early for me. Our family was going to see The Lord of the
Rings: The Two Towers at 11 this morning. We had tickets for the
opening day (yesterday) but it was only for 10 at night and my mom
didn't want the younger ones out that late, though I later found out
that Amy had in fact gone with her friends to see it on the opening
day :( while I stayed at home and watched the kids and my mom went
shopping. Anyway, my dad wanted to get there 2 hours early so we'd
be sure to have good seats.
On the way I wanted them to stop by Wal-Mart so I could get my
Fellowship of the Ring book to read while I waited for the movie.
There was no time for that, they said. We got cinnamon rolls from
Albertson's which were cold because we didn't have anything to heat
them up with in the car. When we got there, there was 1 person in
the theater. Okay, great, we're going to wait 2 hours and me with no
book to read for this? My parents said they didn't know there
wouldn't be very many people. We sat there for a while, obviously, and
I saw all the slides twice. Finally I heard my dad say it was 9:50,
meaning there was still an hour and 10 minutes. By that time there
was maybe 7 people seated.
My mom was going to go around the mall shopping and wanted to
know if anyone wanted to come. I immediatelly got up and started
walking down the stairs. Since my parents were trying to organize
everything (telling us not to talk loud, telling us where to sit,
telling us how many people can leave the theater at a time...) they
took forever figuring out who wanted to go. I just walked out the
theater and hoped they would see me and come after me, causing my
mom to come out quicker. No one came for a while. Then Amy and Catie
joined me and right after came my mom. I first went into FYE and got
TMBG's 5th album "John Henry". That was the last CD I had of theirs
before I lost them, and I had it for maybe a week or so before then.
Their 6th and last official album is "Factory Showroom" but they
have several other CDs that are various other songs and remixes
like "Severe Tire Damage" and "Mink Car". We went to a few other
stores, and then went back when there was about 30 mintutes left,
but I stopped and got popcorn and peanut M&M's and a Sprite,
without ice of course ;)
Well, the movie was way cool. During the beginning it gave me a
little "iffy" feeling about the movie, but it later got a lot better
and rivals the first. Contrary to the first movie (where they ended
the movie after the first book and it went some into the second)
they ended the movie a little before the ending of the second book.
They didn't even get to Shelob yet. I was looking forward to that.
But it was a very good movie, and it had funny parts, but it sorta
protrayed Gimli as more of a goof, but he still fought nicely.
After the movie, we went home and I didn't do too much else
except talk to Kelli a little, being interrupted more than I liked
by either my mom or hers. Well, that's about it.
