Driving Nick
around |
3/6/2003 |
The day started with my dad saying we should eat out
for breakfast. We decided on the Ye Olde Pancake house. I looked at
the menu and was going to get waffles, but decided on the stack of 5
buttermilk pancakes. They were really good, but of course they were.
After that, I watched "Tuck Everlasting" again with my dad since he
wasn't here when we watched it. Man, that's just a cool... cool and
sad movie. It's one of those that keeps you thinking about it
afterwards and keeps this feeling in you... this lonely and sad
feeling, but it's for the characters that you feel it for. I dunno,
it's weird. Most movies don't affect me that much. Anyway, this guy
came to our house and talked with my parents because we will be
remodeling or something. After that my dad had to go to work, and
then Nick called me when I was upstairs and laying down and, of
course, thinking about things, mostly about how my future will be and
what things I've messed up in the past. It's mostly about the past
that I think about. Stupid things I've done, wondering where I went
wrong in things, wishing I could go back and change things, trying
to figure out things that happened that I didn't understand,
wondering how people think of me, and, of course, pretending I had
someone there to hold and be with and to make dinner plans with, and
do other things that couples do together. That's pretty much all I
do when I lay down during the day.
But like I said, the phone rang and I was hoping it would be for
me, since it would mostly mean that Carly would be calling me to go
do something. If not her, then Tracy was the next choice, but it was
a much better chance of it being Carly since I just did something
with Tracy, and Carly had said she might call me yesterday. Well, it
was for me, and so I happily came down and it was Nick. Nick huh?
Well, it's certainly not what I was expecting, but that's cool, too;
maybe even as good as Carly calling. So he wanted to come over, and
my mom agreed to let me drive him despite my inexperience. We went
to Putters to play DDR, naturally, and after a little of that, this
other guy came and easily finished a 9-foot song that was way too
hard for me, and maybe Nick. Nick saw him do it and I told Nick that
we should leave 'cause this guy's way better than us. I was just
kidding, of course, but Nick suggested going to the Gateway Mall where
they have DDR Max 2 instead of DDR 4th Mix like at Putters. Nick
likes the Max 2 version better. So I drove us to the Gateway Mall
exit from the freeway but I got off at the exit right before the one
we are supposed to go on. That road took us a long ways until we
could get off it and then I didn't know how to get back because I
couldn't go back the way we came. I drove all around with Nick
trying to help where to go, but neither of us recognized any of the
area. It was crazy. I finally stopped at a Safeway and asked a guy
named "Ying" for directions. He told us to get on the I-5 and take
it all the way and it would take us to the mall. Well, the mall is
in Springfield and while on the interstate, Nick saw a sign
announcing an exit for the Springfield City Center. He said to go
that way and from there it would probably be easy to find signs
pointing to the mall. I went there and we ended up in the place we
had just come from. Nick then said just to keep going on the
interstate and go past that exit. It was pretty interesting, but we
eventually got onto the Beltline Highway and it took us to Santa
Clara and I knew how to get to the Mall from there. We were back to
almost where we started at Putters. This time I took the correct exit
to the mall.
At the mall, it was only 6:45 and Nick had to be back by 9. We
ate Sbarro's Pizza and then went into Tilt and played DDR and Marvel
vs Capcom 2. Then we went and looked in Electronics Boutique and Game
Crazy because Nick wanted to see the used games. Neither had
Xenogears, but that's expected because it's a well-known game, but
it's very rare. It's supposed to be one of the best RPGs, though.
I'll just find it on the internet. Then I'll get Xeno Saga which is
the sequel, I think, and that's out now, but for the PS2, unlike
Xenogears which is for the PS1. Then I had to take him back home. It
was pretty cool and since I didn't have any money, he paid for
everything, and he said that he's just paying me back for the times
I've paid for him when we hung out, and also gas money.
Also, I just downloaded 10 or so System of a Down songs, and now
I'm looking for Korn. I really hope this cable internet is really
going to be available to us. That'd be so cool! |
