Well, I got part of my car stereo 3/14/2003
First of all, I had to dismantle this stupid swingset that we've had in our yard for the longest time, and no one has gone on it since forever ago, and it's rusted. We had to move it to the front due to it being in the way of the tree that the electric company had to cut down. Apparently, the wire was right against the tree and rubbing against it when the wind blew. They said that if you cut a 3rd or more of the tree off then it won't survive, and the place they would have to cut was about halfway, so they just cut the whole thing down since it would die anyway. We had another guy come and cut another of the trees down that was near the one the electric company did. The wire was rubbing against a redwood, but the other one was just one that looks like a huge Christmas tree. In the very high winds last February, one of our trees fell (you can go back and read about it in the entry during that time if you're a hardcore fan of my life, or if you're just extremely bored). I said it fell, but it only sorta fell. See, the way the tree grew, it split halfway up and had 2 tops. In the wind, one of them broke off, taking part of the lower area with it. This made the tree very weak and would probably fall if wind with any strength blew against it. That's dangerous, especially since it's in range of our house, so we had it cut down, too, which made for a lot of limb-dragging for Matt and Ben, and a lot of wood-chopping for me. So anyway, nothing much happened at home, except I was bored and hadn't talked to Carly in a while and decided to call her up to chat. She answered and I said, "Hey... what's up?" She laughed and said it was Carly's mom. I said she sounds just like her, and she said a lot of people say that. Well, then Carly got on, sounding less than hyper. I told her how I mistaked her mom for her, and she said she didn't want to talk right now. I hope everything's alright. When things like this happen I always wonder if it's something to do with me. I hope she's at work tomorrow, and hopefully she'll be feeling better. I hate seeing her depressed. I need to stop worrying.

So I drove to The Good Guys and picked out the deck and speakers I wanted, and the guy said that they couldn't install them today because it takes like 4 hours and the car installation closes at 7, and it was around 3:30. Great. Well, I asked if they could just do the radio and speakers and not the subwoofer and amplifier. The guys said that he suggests doing it all at one time so he won't have to close it all up and then open it up again the next day. So I asked if he could just put in the radio and I'd use the speakers that were in there for now. He said he could do that. I got a different deck, which was $150 cheaper because it was by a different company and didn't allow MP3s to be played. In terms of sound and everything else, the guy said it's as good as the more expensive one, and it's the one that he has. The reason I got this is because they have a hard drive thing that you can put MP3s on that allows even the deck I got to play MP3s, and the more expensive one only could read MP3s on a CD, which means I'd have to burn more than one CD and also it'd be a pain if I downloaded more because I'd have to put them on a CD first. The good thing about this deck that I got, also, is that it can turn backwards when the car's off so it looks like just a black, flat panel, and you can even have a code you have to put in for it to turn back around. So tomorrow I'll have them install the speakers, sub, and amp. It's also under a 5-year warranty.

Well, at work, things were pretty normal. One thing out-of-the-ordinary happened, which I don't particularly like. There was this young lady playing the crane machine to get a stuffed animal... you know what I'm talking about? Well, I was pushing an empty cart that someone left in the small arcade area to the cart rail. The crane machine and lady were between me and where I was going. There was plenty of room for me to go by without getting too close to her. So I started going and I noticed that before the crane even got to the toy, she left it and stood beside the machine. I didn't know why she did that and just thought it odd. Once I got past her, she said, "Excuse you," kinda loudly. I looked back and saw she was serious. I didn't know what she meant at first, but then realized it and said, "Oh, I'm sorry... I didn't know I was in you're way--" and she immediately said, "Yeah, whatever (or something to that extent). Don't be rude; that's not your job." Needless to say, I went over and over it in my mind the whole rest of the time I did carts (it happened maybe an hour before it was time to go home). I kept looking for her to come out. I had it thought out that I'd say, "Hey, I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to be rude. I didn't realize you were moving for me until you said that, and it didn't look like you were in the way." If she interrupted I'd say, "Wait, just listen," and then explain. Then I'd offer to help her unload her stuff into her car. Well, I didn't see her for a long time and I figured I missed her. But then I saw her at the checkstand with a man and a little boy. I wasn't going to go apologize with the guy there, and 2 people I told said to just not worry about it because I didn't do anything wrong. Chris said he hates it when people thinks he's rude, too, and he knows what I mean about thinking about it the whole rest of the day. Man, I'm tired. See ya next entry.
