Unrelaxing day 4/14/2003
That's the best way to describe it. I felt tired and neither Tracy nor Carly was there and it was cold and it was too busy. To top it off, I walked by Melissa and asked how it was going, and she just moved her head as if to say "so-so" but didn't bother to say anything. Then when I passed her in the walkway later today, she obviously didn't look at me on purpose and had this frown on her face like she was thinking of something (let me tell you, she does a bad job of trying to make me feel bad). So I figured she was mad at me for whatever reason, and that it's not a big deal because there's always some girl not talking to me and most of the time I hadn't even done anything, and half the time they admit that it wasn't me, that it was them in a bad mood. But are they in a bad mood to their other friends? No siree. I'm just an easy target, I guess, since I'm easy-going. The carts were going like hot cakes and I can just say that I took my break and enjoyed every minute of it. I could relax and draw, and the only people who came and bothered me all admired my drawing and, in my opinion, exaggerating how talented I am. Sure, it's nice to have compliments, but they don't need to bow down (now I'm exaggerating).

Near quitting time, Chris found me and said there was a cart full of returns that needed putting away. While pushing that around, I saw Melissa doing the same with another one. I noticed that I had quite a few Sporting Goods items and also knew that she liked hunting and stuff like that and therefore must shop in Sporting Goods more often than I do, so she must know where stuff goes in there better. I came up beside her and said, "You probably know where stuff in Sporting Goods goes better than me..." and I was going to propose that we trade carts so that if not both of us, at least she would have an easier cart to put away, but she just pointed to Sporting Goods and said forcefully, "Over there," and she walked off. If that's not mad at me, I don't know what is. The only problem is, I don't know what I did. The only thing I can think of remotely wrong is that when Ruby, our mutual friend, asked me a few times over the course of a week how Melissa was doing, I said she didn't seem to be having a very good day. I saw Melissa and Ruby talking and ignoring me when I was around (they talked right by the carts and naturally I have to keep going there to do my job), so they could have been talking about me and Melissa didn't like me talking about her or something, but if so, then she's doing the exact same thing to me. I didn't hear the page to go home, so I left half an hour later than everyone else. Melissa obviously didn't see me clock out or leave when she did, so maybe she thought I hurried out and avoided her or something. I don't work again for 3 days and hopefully she'll get over the childish "I'm not talking to you" thing by then and if not, then I'll confront her and tell her that the least she can do is tell me why she's being a brat to me. I don't want people taking advantage of me because I never stand up for myself.
