Just trying to be nice 5/25/2003
Well, neither Melissa nor Carly had said anything to me today. I'll skip to the end of the day since nothing special happened during the day.

I had been thinking of how to approach Carly, like if I should throw on her everything I knew and make her answer for ignoring me and not telling me why she was doing it and then going and telling her friends stuff about me that wasn't true. Or should I act as if I don't know anything and only know that she's giving me the cold shoulder and ask her why she is? When it was time for my last break, I got on the phone and called her house since she had already gone home. It was out of my character to do something that fast about it. I'm really shy when it comes to confronting people about things. But this is how it went:

Her: Hello?
Me: Hi, this is Jason.
Her: Hi.
Me: Listen, I don't want this to turn into another not-talking-to-each-other-for-2-months thing, so what's up?
Her: Nothing.
Me: Well, you've been giving me the cold shoulder.
Her: I'm really busy. I have to go.
Me: Okay...

Well, it didn't go as well as it did when I thought it out in my head. I probably just made it a lot worse, like I always end up doing to a problem. I decided I would just wait until there was a good opportunity and first see if she would just listen to what I had to say. I can wait. I just hope it doesn't take 2 months.

Anyway, this lady of about 50 had lost her key to her car and was looking for it. From then on, I saw her searching the parking lot for it, since it had fallen off her keychain. She and the 2 kids with her (probably her grandkids) were able to stay out of the rain since the kids forgot to lock the car, but she couldn't start it without the key, obviously. The whole time I was thinking that I have to finish the carts so I can clock out and help her look for it. There was no way I was going to let them stay there all night. When I finally did finish the carts and clocked out, I went out and she was sitting in her car. I told her that I was sorry it took so long but I couldn't be looking for her key on the clock. She said it was alright and she didn't expect me to look for it anyway. Well, I'm tired of things I try to help people with always backfiring and making it worse and/or making them mad at me for interfering and I knew that I couldn't possibly make this situation worse unless I accidently kicked her key into a grate or something, lol. I'd probably do something like that, though. But she didn't want to look for her key anymore and I figured she probably had already looked all the places I would look, so I just offered her a ride. She said her sister in Junction City (hehe, that's where I live) was coming to get her, but she appreciates the offer. So, since I couldn't do anything else, I stayed there and talked to her about stuff until her sister came. At least I felt good about that. I could go home with something to affect my mood besides work and people avoiding me. The rain felt good, too, since it's been hot lately.

Babe, I wouldn't worry about it. Something's obviously bothering Carly, but I doubt it'll last. Just give her space and let her cool off. As for Melissa, I don't know what to tell you there. She's being a little shady by not telling you what's up. If you need to talk about it, you can always comes to me.
