I've gotten a little closer to Kevin lately. He's one
of the new stockmen. He's not into computers, video games, or TV,
and he's into sports, both playing and watching, but one thing we
have in common is music. He likes the exact same music I like, but
he's been into it a lot longer and has lots of CDs that he said
he'd let me borrow, including Korn. On the Matrix: Reloaded
soundtrack, the second song is done by Marilyn Manson, and although
I've had my mind set that I don't like him, this song turned out to
be one of my favorites on the CD, so I'm considering getting more of
his music. I mean, if I like Slipknot, I'll probably like his music,
right? The only thing I'm hesitant about is that I've heard he sings
about rather disturbing things, unlike Slipknot. I suppose my source
is Kevin, who has heard Manson's music.
I've also gotten on good terms with Phillip, who until recently
just would look at me. It turns out I'm a little older than he is.
He said I look 16, lol! Well, his music style isn't what I prefer,
but he is into cars, something I've recently taken a liking to since
having one of my own. He also likes RPGs, though he doesn't play
them as often as I do. His friend is making an RPG using RPGMaker
2003. I'm using RPGMaker 2000, but will upgrade to 2003 when I get
around to it. He said he's interested in the game I'm making after I advertised it to him, lol. I'm only on the freaking first
town, though.
When I talked to Mike about what jokes Steven and he made about
me standing in the Harry Potter line, he laughed and said they
didn't say anything about it, but asked me if I got it, since
they're sold out now.
Yesterday, when I came into work, I passed Carly's car, surprised
to see her sitting inside and reading the new Harry Potter book.
Without even trying, I found out from Andy that she had it reserved
at another store.
When I was on break, Assistant Manager Pat called me into the
office whenever I was done with my break, which turned out to be
twice as long as it was supposed to be because he was talking to Mike
and I had to wait. I sure didn't complain about the extra reading
time, though! When I did go in, it was a interview for the ICS job
opening... finally! He basically asked me why I wanted the job, what
my hours were currently, and told me what I'd have to be doing.
Mainly, I'd be stocking shelves, making sure the back room was tidy,
and helping unload the truck when they come in during the evening.
Oh yeah, and they have a boom box back there and they often listen
to hard rock, hehe! It will be full-time instead of what I have now,
plus it will pay like 50 cents more an hour. He said that he'd be
talking to the people greeters mostly, since I work most closely
with them, and that the determining factor for which 2 or 3 of the
12 applicants get the position will be exclusively attitude and
work habits displayed in their current job and will not be affected
by knowledge of what an ICS member has to do. Well, in that case,
it's either good or bad for me. Good because the greeters have
nothing but good to say about me. Bad because when I told them about
it, they laughed evily and said they would say bad things about me
because they don't want me to leave. I hope I get the job, though. I
need the money with my dad looking for work.
Nick from work came up to me and wanted to know if I wanted to go
see "The Italian Job" with him on one of our days off. I didn't
object. That was a nice surprise.
Speaking of Italian, after church yesterday, our family went out
to eat lunch at The Olive Garden with Ashley, Heather, and Bro. Jim
and Sis. Judy (Heather's parents). I, of course, had lasagna (haha,
Jamie!). Amy ordered pizza but they forgot about it and when we were
leaving, they gave it to her in a box, free. The food was good,
though. It always is. I love The Olive Garden.
For a bit of unexpected news, when I was walking into work today
and almost to Layaway, in which the door to the break room and time
clock is, I turned the corner and saw Carly was walking behind
me. I was carrying my book in my hand and she had obviously seen it.
I had previously pondered asking her how the book was the next time
I saw her, leaving to fate whatever outcome would come about from me
talking to her, and was now deciding if I should do it now or some
other time. Almost spontaneously, I turned around to face her, and
surprisingly, she had a smile on her face. Before I could say
anything, she asked me how I liked the book and what page I was on.
I told her I didn't remember and she said I should get a bookmark,
but that she was on page 200 and feeling like a slacker. I found my
place; it was page 84, but I haven't been reading it a home much.
She said how it gets more interesting later on, and she had told
everyone that she can't do anything for the next 2 weeks. I knew it
was because she wanted to have as much time as possible to read.
Well, I'm tired now, and almost didn't write this entry because
Amy was on the computer and I started this right when she got off.
I'll read others' entries and write notes tomorrow. Oyasumi nasai.
