My Independence
Day |
7/4/2003 |
Today I remained to be dependent on Wal-Mart for
income, remained to be dependent on my parents for a place to live
and food to eat, remained to be dependent on people for happiness,
remained to be dependent on air to live, remained to be dependent on
water to keep cool, remained to be dependent on my car to get me
around, remained to be dependent on my sunglasses to keep my eyes
from squinting, but am now independent from... um... let's
see........................................ Carly I guess. I've kinda
missed her off and on, but today when I went back to work after
being off for 3 days, it kind of hit me that I really don't need her
as a friend. She was in the break room and asked Nick what they
should do this week. Hold on, she's never asked me that. The most
she would ask was if I wanted to do something on a certain day, and
it was probably because she was bored and didn't have anyone else to
do something with. There are better people out there whom I already
am friends with and they're all I need. I still sometimes wish she
would at least smile at me, though. I'm pathetic like that.
Anyway, I didn't get up in time to go with Tracy yesterday to
Washington to get the fireworks and I saw her mom today and she said
Tracy wasn't happy. I saw Tracy and she just said that I missed out
on some good stuff, like an arcade at a Wal-Mart! I asked if it had
DDR and she said she didn't look. Oh, I wouldn't leave that place
then. I'd transfer to that Wal-Mart if they had DDR. Lunch breaks
would have so much more meaning.
Anyway, the first thing we did was go to Sis. Michelle's house
with the rest of our church and we met up with Bro. Jason and his
wife, Sis. Donna, and also Sis. Pat, who is Jimmy's mom. They came
from our Idaho church, so that was cool. Oh yeah, and Sis. Cora, who
is Sis. Pat's daughter-in-law. Sis. Donna brought her baby, of
course, and she had one after she wasn't supposed to be able to. We
ate breakfast there, which was eggs, an egg-salsa-cheese thing, and
cinnamon rolls. I found out that Shannon is getting married soon
(she used to go to our church but stopped when she moved out, but
still comes around for big events). She's a day older than I am. We
watched this parade that went through Harrisburg (on the same street
where Carly lives) and I sat on the curb and grabbed only the candy
that stopped directly in front of me. Matt and Catie gave me candy
they didn't want so I ended up with a good amount. I had to leave
for work after that.
It went by sorta quickly, but I had nothing to do on my breaks
since I finished my Harry Potter book. I did end up talking to Eric
at Subway about it since he finished it, too. They let us go a little
early for the holiday, but not early enough to see any fireworks.
And now here I am. That was my 4th of July. |
