The 5th of July 7/5/2003
I got a talking-to from my dad about helping out with the yard more. He's right, though. I should help out more than I do. I'm just lazy and don't like doing things right away, but of course my dad's right and I should put other things aside like being on the computer if stuff needs to be done. But I had to go to work and I didn't have time to do anything after the talk.

At work, of course I noticed Carly there and of course she was very friendly to other people when she would avoid eye-contact with me. Sometimes it's just hard to be independent. I don't like her that way anymore and even if I did, there's no way I'd want to date her. I would want to be able to actually enjoy my girlfriend. But what affects me is that she said she wants to be acquaintances but is being much less than that. Robert said that it sounds like she has "written me off" and since I haven't really written her off in my mind, she can "dangle a worm in front of me" once in a while and see that I'm still hooked and it gives her an ego boost. He's the guy I talk to the most about stuff like that because he's married and claims he used to be just like me; plus he's on my side and he won't go behind my back. At least I hope not. Well, from now on it's just business, and I'll keep it that way. I'm tired of people treating me however is convenient for them because I don't hit back.

Well, Randy was shopping and I came across him. Like usual, he followed me around while I pushed carts and talked to me, but I don't object because I don't usually have company while I work like everyone inside does. I work just as fast while talking to him, but apparently Sherene doesn't think so. I was in the process of grabbing some carts to add to my line and Sherene asked if I was on the clock (most likely because Randy was talking to me, but for crying out loud, Retard, I have my freakin' work vest on and I'm pushing carts, something that is against the rules to do off the clock and I certainly wouldn't be doing it if I wasn't getting paid). I said I was on the clock. She said I'm needed at the front of the store like I already knew and I was messing around. Obviously all non-managers can't be left alone for too long or else they won't work, or so she seems to think. She told Randy that he has to visit me when I'm on break and not when I'm working. Ahem, he can visit me if he wants to. His talking sure isn't slowing my work down nearly as much as yours is. But of course I can't say that.

After my last break at 10, I was called to the garden center. On my way there, I saw Mike and Steven going there and said they were there for the carry-out. Wendy said she called a stockman, not them, and when they didn't care, she notified them that she had garbage that she needed to go to the back room in the compactor so they left. That was what I was called for: 4 carts of cardboard and garbage. She said they were given a lot of work today and they hadn't even started on watering the plants, which is a 3-hour job. I agreed to taking the trash for them and, of course, she and Ami sounded very grateful, but I sometimes wonder if they only sound nice to my face and make fun of me behind my back. They are close with Carly, after all. I offered to help them with their watering and Wendy said it would be a help if I did. After I finished my carts, I headed to the garden center to where they were and Ami said "hi". I asked if they needed help watering and she said they were good, but it was nice of me to offer. She said they only have a few more tables to go.

On my way home, I passed a hitchhiker walking away from Santa Clara. Junction City is the nearest city in that direction and it's 6 miles away. It was midnight. I couldn't help stopping for him and he asked me where I was headed. I said "Junction City" and he said he was headed for Harrisburg, which is 4 miles past Junction. He said he'd give me a few dollars if I went all the way to Harrisburg and I agreed. I had Metallica playing and he said he likes them a lot. I asked what he was doing walking down an unlit road at this time and he said that he and his wife had an argument and she drove off, leaving him without a way to get home except walking or being given a ride. In front of his house, he gave me $2 and thanked me for the ride. Once in a while an opportunity comes along when I can do something for someone and actually help instead of hurt.

that's so cool. I've always wanted to pick up a hitch-hiker! The first time I ever saw one was driving home from COM one day, and since then I've seen one more, but I'm not allowed to pick them up. Come to think of it... I've always wanted to be a hitch-hiker too, as dangerous as it may be. Weird.

Your boss person sounds dorky, I had a manager like that at McD's & it sucks. Poor you.

BTW, after leaving the other note (not the one here) I remembered where my letters from you are- in a folder with your stories and pictures and stuff. True I don't currently know the exact location of said folder, but at least I still have it, ne?

See, no ripping! ^_^

You're setting yourself up for aggravation again? Not too bright. [mini-lyricmaniac]

another note for mini-lyricmaniac,

I noticed someone left those evil block notes on your diary. While going through random diaries, I found one that explains how to delete that note. The diary name is Shinigami-Sama and the entry to use is rather obvious. Good luck fixing it.
