Stupid! 7/7/2003
Today was a stupid day! It was so busy at work and cars kept getting in my way and too many people kept coming into the store and the carts were hard to push and I felt like I never got anything done and like I was constantly trying to get caught up but never did. More on that later. First I'll talk about before work.

I got up and, remembering what my dad had said about helping around the house, immediately headed into town to get oil and gas for the rider mower, and had some brunch at Subway. I've sort of changed my taste. I used to get mostly the Cold Cut Trio or the Italian BMT with nothing but lettuce and salt and pepper. Now, I get either of those but with lettuce, pickles, bell peppers, peperoncinis, and salt and pepper. It's really good that way. I've always been sort of afraid to eat peppers, but they are good on the sandwich. So I did that, then mowed as much as I could before I had to shower and go to work. Did I mention that it really sucks to mow on uneven and bumpy ground with our mower? Anyway, I showered and hosed off my car, which was very dusty, then made off for work. I planned to stop by the Valley River Center (mall) to buy the Misfits' first album, since I was sure I'd like it. The stupid construction on River Road delayed me at least 15 minutes, just sitting there until they let some cars go! I wasted a good, fast Metallica song just sitting there when I could have been driving to it! I took a chance, however, and went to the mall, anyway. I went into Sam Goody and found the Misfits section. I had a hard time finding the first album since I couldn't find a date on it, but I grabbed the one made in 1982 on a wild guess. When I finally got to work, I was 15 minutes late. Hmph. At least I was wearing my dad's old muscle shirt. I need to rid myself of my farmer's tan desperately.

So like I said, impatient people in cars were my company for most of the day. Phil had opened, which meant that I had a lot of work to do from the start. He went home when I got there and I had a parking lot-full of carts to do. Once I would finally get a good amount inside, it would be my break time and the carts would be half empty by the time I got back. I was only gone 15 minutes! I barely even got to walk over to the garden side, let alone do their carts, and stupid Greeter Patty would bug me about them since she was stationed at the Garden entrance and didn't like having to go get carts from the parking lot to give to customers. I also kept being called from my constantly half-done job at the carts to help a customer out with a large item.

On a better note, I did get to borrow a CD from Kevin, though he did forget to bring them, he just let me borrow the Drowning Pool one from his CD player, and after looking at my CDs, decided to borrow "Disturbed - The Sickness". Funny, I thought he'd have that one. Also, I started and finished my short letter to Kelli to accompany the photos back to her that she had me scan.

When it got darker and colder, and I still had my muscle shirt on with my shoulders still looking just as pale, the business died down a little, but not as much as it should have. I still found myself unable to have a sense of getting caught up. Support Manager Chris saw me and reminded me to take care of the dead car batteries that people exchanged. Ugh, why does he always have to remind me? Do I ever forget? No. I have a key for crying out loud (though he doesn't know that) and I can put the batteries away by myself. But no, he said once again to come get him before I go home so he can open the gate for me. So far, I've managed to take the batteries out by myself without being seen by someone who would ask how I'm doing it myself without a key (that only managers are supposed to have).

When I was 2/3 done with the carts (after pushing the way-too-many carts on the garden side all the way to the front from lack of space on the garden side), I saw the "closers" leaving. Ugh, that meant I could have been gone if I didn't have too many carts to do.

I got home and ripped both CDs and listened to the Misfits one, unfortunately unsatisfied with it. Maybe I shouldn't just buy a CD just because punk/goth people wear their logo. The Drowning Pool one is cool, though. It has "Bodies" on it. That's such a cool song.

lol, you're kinda impulsive, ne? When I first started reading this, I didn't think you'd like the Misfits much. But then again, I can't believe you like Disturbed and all that. I more or less stopped listening to alot of stuff like that, stuff Skot told me to listen to.

Anywho, that sucks about work. People are so stupid sometimes...

hope I see you online soon!

PS: Yeah I didn't think you did it on purpose, but it was so funny/cute I just had to mention it! Muahahaha, you're stuck with a typo now! ^_^
