After the little lecture from my dad about settling
for a lesser car, my grandparents treated us to the Hometown Buffet.
Good place! Unfortunately, I didn't bring my appetite. I didn't even
get any dessert stuff. After that, we went to the hotel they are
staying at and we went in the pool and it was dusk. I haven't been
swimming in the longest time, and it was fun to remember old times
when my siblings and I, along with Nick and his brothers, would
always go to the public pool all summer long and the games and
things we'd do. This pool was nothing in comparison, but it was
still fun. Amy didn't get in, and neither did my dad or my Grandpa
Ron or Grandma Judy.
After we got out and changed back into dry clothes, I noticed
that my grandma had the 4th Harry Potter book on the night stand and
her bookmark was about 1/3 of the way through. I mentioned how I had
already read the 5th one and she said that she would have, too, but
she hasn't had the time with her job lately (she's an assistant
principal at an elementary school in southern California). I
mentioned something about my lack of car loan to my sisters, Andrea
and Amy, and Amy said she'd let me borrow $400 if Andrea let me
borrow $600 so that I could put it down on the loan and get it
approved (Amy has almost $500, but Andrea has around $1,400). Andrea
said she'd have to ask my parents first (of course, and they will
most likely said "no" because I don't need a car, I already have
one) but one can only hope. Wish me luck.
