My dad took a trip to southern California to pick up
his older sister, Vicki, and her boyfriend, Art, because she is going
to be moving up here. Art only came to help her move and said that
he has to take care of some things down there, but then he'll see if
he will move up here, too. Aunt Vicki is going to be staying with us
until we go to Camp Lane, then she'll be with us a little longer and
then will move into Sis. Michelle's house since Nick and his younger
brother, Cory, have moved out and are living with their dad. Art was
going to go back before Camp Lane. For those of you who don't know,
Camp Lane is a place where people rent and camp there and sleep in
cabins and there is a log cabin that is the mess hall. Our
church has been renting it annually for like 9 years now. Everyone
in our church here in Oregon goes, and those who can make it from
our Idaho and California churches come, as well. Everyone gets to see
brethren that they haven't seen in a long time and everyone has a
great time.
Well, I was asked to go with my dad, aunt, her boyfriend,
and Bro. Ray to help unload the U-Haul truck into storage. Bro. Ray
and his family came here early before Camp Lane. Well, we all
unloaded the full truck, with my dad, of course, making a big deal
about the 9 brooms she brought and giving her a hard time, always
laughing about it. Art joined in a little. Then Bro. Jim showed up
and he teased my aunt as much as my dad did. It was funny. She would
just go along with it and threaten to come over and slap them. It
took a long time, but when we were done, we went to Subway and then I
had to go to stupid work. She's going to be staying in the den, which
means no computer or video games when she wants to go to bed.
Fortunately, she usually only sleeps 4 hours a night.
