The world and
its greedy people |

I came into work and Bonnie said how Kristen had been
working her butt off (they always say that about her, probably
because she's a girl) and was going on lunch. I say they always say
that because I work just as much as she does. For example: I filled
the carts up all the way, then went to the bathroom. When I came
back, the greeter got on my case for being gone because the carts
had gone down some and Kristen was "working her butt off" to fill
them up. Anyway, no one was scheduled to come in at 7, so Kristen
was the first person to come in at 11. She was all red in the face.
She said she was going on lunch and I said that when she got back,
she could do whatever she wanted in the store (help out with other
departments) since it would be cooler in there and she did enough.
Well, I filled them up and it took an hour, then I went down to
Garden and did their carts. Patty was down there and saying they
need some. I said they have 3 rows on the sidewalk part. She said
they need some on the curb where they can get to them easily. I said
that the 3 rows by the pop machines were right by the door and a lot
easier to get to. She said those won't last 10 minutes. So I put
some by the curb like she asked, and then went back to the front to
find out they were very low on carts. I looked at the clock and I
had only been in Garden for half an hour. I started filling up those,
but was losing ground. Then Kristen and Phil came out because they
were told that I couldn't keep the carts full. Kristen said that no
one called for help for her when she was by herself and that I have
a better handle on them than she did. Phil said I must have been
slacking. So we took the motorized cart-pusher to get all the random
carts and while we were gathering a group of them, this lady came
with one and said that we could have been nice and gotten that one
out of the way so she could park. Afterward, Phil said, "Aww, did we hurt her
feelings?" I suggested we get her a card to make her feel better.
Tracy dumped her fiance in Michigan because she found out he was
cheating on her with his ex-girlfriend. She's now unofficially with
James, though he denies it and asked me why she was saying they were
going out. I don't really care about the whole situation. But she
did say something to me about the hour-cuts. Most people are getting
their hours cut. Tracy said that it was so that Ted, the district
manager with a heavy Texan accent, could get his big bonus. Bonnie
is missing 6 hours for one of the weeks. My hours have been cut like
maybe 1 hour, so that's no big deal. I just work a little later to
make up for it, anyway. But John, the store manager, whom everyone
likes, said he'd boost people's hours. He's near retirement. Tracy
said she heard Ted tell John that if he boosted their hours, he'd
fire him and he'd lose his retirement. That's pretty sad, if it's
true. He doesn't need a freakin' bonus. Is he bored of what he makes
that he'd like to have even more extra? Well, at least it's not
affecting me much, since I'm someone they need there a lot. Kristen
was over 6 minutes for the week one time and got talked to about it.
I've been over a few hours and never heard about it. I wonder what
it is about me. |
