My car's not as fast as I thought 10/4/2003
I was driving to work and I passed the radar thing that tells you what speed your car is moving at. They just recently put it there. The speed limit is 55 and it said I was going 55. I knew right away that something was wrong. I looked down at my speedometer and comfirmed that it read around 60-65. I decided to stop by Steve Wasson's (our mechanic who sold me the car) and ask him about it. Then I remembered that he doesn't work on Saturdays and drove by. As I did, I saw that his garage was open and that he was talking to some people, so I turned around and pulled into his driveway. I asked him about it and he said that different size tires must have been put on it since it was bought. The only way to fix it is to take it to a speedometer repair place. He said that it should be the same amount off no matter how fast I'm going, so if it reads 40-45, I'd really be going 35.

At work, I asked Chris about it and he said the same thing, but he said that if I wanted to know for sure if it's the same amount wrong, just to drive by it when my speedometer reads 40 and see what it says I'm really going. Phil said he'd like to drive by it to see how fast he can go in 2nd gear. He said he should be going 85. I asked why he didn't just look at his speedometer and he said he didn't have one because it was broken, so he just guesses how fast he's going, lol.

Work could have been better. I had a stuffy nose and a slight cough, with my sore throat trying to make a comeback. I'm losing my voice, as well. No one to talk to was there except Brent. I saw Randy, however. I haven't seen him in a while. He was telling me how far he was in "Kingdom Hearts", which I let him borrow. He's basically to the end. He's living with his sister and brother-in-law and he said they watch him play all the time. I said I'd like to come over and show them my saved game of it. I'm at the highest level you can be at and I've unlocked the special battle at the battle arena place so I can go one-on-one against the optional, but hardest, opponent in the game: Sephiroth. Sephiroth is, of course, the main enemy in Final Fantasy 7, but in Kingdom Hearts, he's optional. In many RPGs, the last boss isn't the strongest guy in the game. It's usually a hidden boss. In Final Fantasy 7, those guys were Emerald Weapon and Ruby Weapon, being far more difficult to beat than Sephiroth. But in Kingdom Hearts, Sephiroth plays that roll. Anyway, I asked him what days he had off and it turns out that he and I both have Tue, Wed, and Thu off, so I can go over any of those days.

Heading home, I decided to test my speedometer against the radar more thoroughly. I had to back up and turn around quite a few times, but this is what I found out:
When my speedometer reads 25, I'm going 23.
When it reads 35, I'm going 32.
When it reads 40, I'm going 35.
When it reads 55, I'm going 48.
When it reads 65, I'm going 58.
When it reads 75, I'm going 65.
When it reads 85 (as high as my speedometer goes), I'm going 75.
When I'm going as fast as my car will go (I can't tell because the needle won't go past 85), I'm going 90. So, my car can go a maximum of 90 MPH. It's rather pointless to get it fixed since the thing that needs adjustment is in the transmission and I'll hopefully be getting it replaced soon. Scott's going to give Phil his phone number on Monday, and Phil's going to ask him if he got the engine and trasmission yet. I'm really getting tired of this all taking so long, but Chris said Scott moved out most likely due to money troubles, so he'll probably need the money and will want to do it soon. I hope so.

I also found out that the CD burner program I was using puts a 2-second pause between tracks, and that doesn't sound too well with CDs that are supposed to flow from one track to the other. I looked on the website of the program where I got my from and it recommended something called "burnatonce". I used it and was able to burn CDs without the gap between songs, plus they sound better. Now I have to re-burn all my CDs. Good thing the night has many hours!

Yay! You found Randy! lol
I'm no longer confused about him
We had a LONG talk
We were on the phone from when he had you call me, until 7:30am my time!
I have some things to tell you and ask you next time we're online together
I hope you get better soon
Jamie

That sucks... I hope that never happens to my car, I like knowing how fast I'm going. My mom's speedometer doesn't work, so I refuse to drive her van on any streets above 30-40mph.

So you are getting sick too, huh? Poor you, being sick isn't fun. Working on roofs is fun, so long as it's shaded... go ahead and send me some clouds, but no rain, ok? ^_^

So... you like to speed eh? tsk tsk...

...remind me not to get in a car with you driving, ok? Then again... Meghan & Jonie both speed, always, and I still ride with them... oh well.

I know!
I can't believe they are selling it to me for $150!
The room is coming out great, but taking forever
I decided not to give the computer to my sister's friend
Randy helped me figure out what was wrong with my computer
Now I just have to figure out how to fix it!
Taxi man, drive you and Randy here and help me! lol

Poor Randy. He's in for a whole lot of 'fun.' [mini-lyricmaniac]

I dissagree with that. I think that movie sucks. Too many scenes when you can't hardly tell what's going on or who you're looking at, and everyone dies! I hate movies where the hero/s die! It's just so freaking pointless. I didn't have time to write a longer email, as I pointed out, so there; maybe later though.
I'm still busy, lol
