Spending time
with Kristen and Todd |
10/23/2003 |
Today was my last day off and my family was gone
again, but my dad came home pretty soon and used the computer. I got
paid today, which meant I had to give my parents what I owed them. I
also owed my dad money for all of his CDs I used for my music. My
dad remembered that Andrea was off work a while ago and asked if I
could go get her. I did and she didn't like that I was so late, but
I told her that I had just been told about her being off. I told my
dad I was going to get my paycheck to see how much it was so I'd
know how much to give him since the rent part I pay them is 1/3 of
my paycheck. I went to Wal-Mart and Kristen was working, so I stood
around and talked to her a while. I checked the time and it said
that she was off in half an hour, so I said I could just stick
around and give her a ride home. She said that Todd would have
already left by now since they live a ways away, but that I could
wait for him and we could go do something. I got my paycheck and
came out to see Brent. He was hanging around Wal-Mart with his
friend since, according to Kristen, 8 this morning. What a loser,
lol. Todd came on his motorcycle (of course) and we talked a little
to decide what to do. It was cold. He explained how he has ADHD,
so a lot of things are boring to him and for something to do, he
usually just likes to sit around and get high and talk. He said
bowling would be boring. He likes movies, but they aren't sociable
enough for him. We finally decided on going to a coffee house and
just talk. Kristen doesn't like riding the motorcycle very much
since it's cold, but Todd picks her up and drops her off with it
because of the great gas mileage it has. I said my car is always
warm inside from just the engine, even though the heater doesn't
work very well. I was to follow them to Todd's friend's first, then to
the coffee house, and I said how at least I'll be in a nice, warm
car. Kristen said that she wishes she could ride in a warm car, too,
and I yelled behind my back that it was her fault (for dating
someone with a motorcycle). When I got to the car, I turned around
and she was following me, hehe.
We drove to his friend, Tim-Bob's, house (hmm, I can think of 2
people with a similar name). It smelled in there and I saw they had
several small dogs and a cat, with what looked like feathers all
over the carpet. Maybe it was just white fuzz or something. After I
got there, I found out that he was actually getting pot from him,
and he want outside to smoke some after explaining to me how the
bong worked. He said that of course I wasn't expected to try some,
but then he added, "Well, I mean, unless you want to." Kristen told
him to stop and he did. Todd is a really friendly guy who would be
accurately described as a people-pleaser. You can never tell when he
doesn't like something, because he'll never let you know. He's just
always in a good mood and thinks it's so cool that we can hang out
since they don't have a lot of friends. He gets excited easily, too.
So, we left there and went to the coffee house. I had to look
everywhere for a parking spot. I got a cappuccino. We talked about
different stuff like what we fear when we go in the dark outside. I
fear wild animals the most, while Kristen fears kidnappers the most,
but also is afraid of supernatural stuff since she used to live in a
200-year-old house and weird things happened (rocking chairs rocking
by themselves) and Todd is afraid mostly of ghosts. I decided to
call my house and let them know why I was still out as to not make
them worried again. My mom thanked me for calling and said to call
her again when I know how late I'll be out. We decided to go to
their house and hang out more, so Kristen and I followed Todd and it
was a long ways. I was listening to disc 3 of the
Dragon Ball/Dragon Ball Z soundtrack but when it was over, I switched
to Muse instead of going onto disc 4 because I wanted her to hear
it. She liked it a lot. We had to stop at their neighbor's house so
he could stash his pot there, since his parents were getting
suspicious. Then we went into the woods on their property so he
could show me something. He came back with a beer. Yay. He drank it
at the house, but offered me one drink. Kristen didn't like him
doing that, but I tried it just to see what it tasted like. It
basically tastes like diluted wine. He drank the rest and then I had
them listen to They Might Be Giant's first album. Within the first 3
songs, Todd had this huge grin on his face and saying how this was
so awesome. At other times during the CD, he came to me and said how
he's so glad that this exists, and it's the best music he's ever
heard, probably, and that it was just so cool, and they are really
talented. He was just so blown away by them. His mom came home with
Todd's sister and then when Todd and Kristen were walking me out to
my car, his dad pulled up and I shook hands with him. They gave me
directions to get back home and I headed straight there. BTW,
Kristen tried to get Todd to play DDR once, but he wouldn't, but she
likes the idea of trying to play it. Yay! |
