Today I woke up around 11 and decided I wanted
biscuits and gravy. Mmm, I love biscuits and gravy. Dari Mart has
them until noon. I needed another reason to go out than just to get
that, so I remembered that I forgot to get my money out for my rent
yesterday, and there is an ATM really close to Dari Mart. I was
about to head out when the phone rang. It was my sister, Andrea,
wanting to be picked up from work. She works at McDonald's and it's
right across the street from Dari Mart, so I said I would get her.
When I picked her up, I asked if I took a while. She said I took
too long, so I knew that she had been waiting before she called and
my mom had obviously forgotten about her. I went to Dari Mart and
got my breakfast, then asked if Andrea still needed to put her check
in her account. She said she did, so after I got the $220 I owe my
parents, Andrea put her check in. We got home and I ate the yummy
food.
At work I was by myself. It was a little slower than it has been
from the oncoming holiday season. Pretty much nothing out of the
ordinary happened. Randy followed me around a little while I worked.
I wasn't in the mood to talk today. Besides that, everything was
normal except when I was almost done with the carts and was going to
go home once I finished.
I was called over to where Hannah and Stephanie were in the
parking lot. I went to school with Stephanie. They were going to try
to jump start Stephanie's car and they requested my help. I hooked
the cables to Stephanie's battery and Hannah hooked the other ends
to her battery. They started their cars and smoke came out of
Stephanie's car, so we disconnected them. Stephanie slammed her door
shut and tears came down her face. :( She kept repeating how this
has been the worst day of her life and this just tops it off. We
figured that one of the ends hadn't been the same as the other, so
we switched them around and Stephanie's car started. They let it run
for a bit and I went and finished the carts.
When I was clocked out, they were closer to the exit of the
parking lot, but Stephanie's car had died again. I drove mine up and
offered my car to be used since my battery has easier terminals to
access. She got it started and she asked if I could follow her home
(she lives in Junction City as well) just in case it dies on the way
home. I agreed to do that. At the stop sign right before you get on
the street, her car died again. She got on her cell phone again and
told her dad to come get her. I said I could take her home and she
said that would work, too. We started her car and she was going to
drive it to the Chevron just down the road to leave it there. She
then told me that I won't need to give her a ride since her dad was
coming and wanted to see what was wrong with it. She would be
driving his truck home. I went over to her and held out my arms and
she was like, "Yes," and hugged me. I followed her to the gas
station. I noticed I could have used some gas, so I filled up, then
decided that if she was going to sit and wait for him to come, I
could at least wait with her and give her someone to talk to since
things were going so poorly. I told her that I would wait for her
since "it's the worst day of [her] life". She said I didn't need
to and I asked if that meant she didn't want me to. She said that I
could if I wanted, so I sat on the curb and she joined me. I
explained the whole internet filtering situation at my house and
she gave comments about it. Then her dad came and she thanked me and
I left. I hope he finds what's wrong with it.
