Monday is always my Friday, meaning it's the last day
I work before my days off. It also always happens to be the worst
day out of the 4 days I work. It never fails. Monday always holds
the long, drawn-out shift with the worst things happening. But today
wasn't like that. It was actually a pretty good day, for a work day.
My mom was wanting to clean out the den and was asking me what I was
going to do with all the random computer parts in there. I said that
I was going to put a computer together for Ben, but I was missing
some parts and didn't know of any place that would still sell older
parts. She suggested that we just get rid of them. They've been
sitting around for so long, I might as well. My dad said that when
he has the money, he'll just get Ben an updated one. Goodwill doesn't
take outdated computers, but they gave the number of a place that
does. My mom called him and I told him some of the parts we have
(old PCI and ISA sound/video cards, modems, etc.) and he said that
they could really use those and he'd be over tomorrow to pick them
all up. That's cool. We don't have anything better to do with them.
At least someone else can use them. We have a lot of computer parts
to give away. It's like seeing how much old stuff is worth. I love
it.
Phil had told me that Scott said the guy he was going to buy the
engine from has already sold it and he can't find any for under
$700, plus Scott has work to do on his own cars, so it will be a
while before my car will be upgraded. He said I could always go out
and buy a new engine for around $1,200, but that's more than I have
right now. I had been putting off my oil change since I was going to
get a new engine soon, but since it doesn't look like that's the
case anymore, I decided I should change it. I took it to Lube-It-USA
on the way to work.
Work was fine. It was people greeter, Ruby's, birthday today.
She's 31, I think. I talked to Mike and asked him what was going on
with him and Karen. I know that Karen is married to Jason, who works
overnights, but Mike and Karen have been hanging out a lot and
always take breaks together. I just asked him how things were going.
It turns out, he and Karen have been going out for 2 months, Jason
just found out about it, they are getting a divorce, and Jason's
trasferring to another Wal-Mart. Wow. He said Jason would like to
work it out with Karen, but he doesn't want her and Mike to be
friends anymore, and that's not going to happen. Randy also had some
problems of his own. I didn't get a chance to talk to him about it,
but he was depressed and I think it had something to do with Angela,
and Tracy starting a rumor about him and her, and Angela hearing
about it, and not talking to Randy or something. But that's just bits
and pieces of what I heard. I'll have to ask him about it when I get
the chance. I hope things work out fine for him. I've gone though my
share of female trouble and I don't wish that on him.
Ruby was taking her lunch at the same time I was and she invited
me to eat with her and her family in McDonald's. I said I would be
eating Subway, but I'd bring it over there. I decided to get her
something for her birthday and I asked some casual questions and I
don't think she suspected anything. I got out of her that she likes
Disney animated movies, has never seen "The Emperor's New Groove",
and has a DVD player. Hehe. BTW, Amy got that movie for her
birthday. Before I took my lunch, my old friend, Jonathon Seagoe,
came in with one of his friends. Wow, I haven't seen him for a
while! I went to school with him. We were good friends. He and I
came up with the weirdest ideas. We were always making up the
craziest things. Geeks at their best, lol. We talked a little and I
asked about Hynix. His friends used to work there and Jonathon's and
my mutual friend, Billy, still works there. They said that shifts
are about 12 hours long, and anything after 10 hours is overtime.
That's cool! It's really strict about being on time, though, so I'll
have to really be careful. I'm prone to be late a lot. They gave me
Billy's number.
On my lunch, I went and bought the movie ($13.00 after my discount card)
and then got my food. I was half an hour late for my lunch and by
the time I came back, Ruby was gone, so I just went and ate my food.
When I was done with my lunch, I found Ruby and gave her the movie.
She liked it and gave me a hug.
It slowed down later on and I finished the carts early, so I had
to find stuff to do. I hate having to find things to do. Oh well,
that's it. Goodnight.
