I was looking forward to going and playing DDR with
Kristen, and then watching a movie. She never called. I looked all
over for the number to Todd's house, but although I found all the
other papers (reciepts) I had with me at the time, I couldn't find
the one with that number on it.
The guy came for the computer parts. He was tall with really
thick glasses. He loved all the computer parts we gave him. He said
that they never hit the jackpot like this. This was a godsend. He
especially liked the expansion cards. Basically, they are a
non-profit organization who builds computers and gives them away to
people with low income. He said we could do a tax write-off from it
and we were responsible for claiming how much we think all the parts
were worth, though he said that his ballpark figure would be
$500-$1,000 easy. My dad said we'd claim $750. Figures he'd say
that. Well, giving it to people who can't afford it is sure better
than throwing it out. Why don't restaurants do that?
After that, my parents left to do their stuff, leaving me with
only Catie. I cleaned the kitchen and basically sat around the whole
time, listening to and downloading music while waiting for Kristen
to call. Finally my mom came home with Ben. Matt had already gotten
home from the school bus and Amy got her usual ride from Ellen. My
dad came with my mom, too. I picked Andrea of from work, so we were
all there together, just in time for a dinner of homemade submarine
sandwiches. My dad could tell that I was kinda bummed, so he gave me
some little hints asking if I wanted for him and me to go do
something after dinner. I said it would be fine with me. I was
bummed because the whole day was basically wasted waiting around in
case Kristen called, and I couldn't find her number. He's been
saying he wants to see "S.W.A.T." with me for a while now. I gave
in. The next showing started in 2 hours, so I decided that instead
of sitting around and doing nothing while I waited for that, I'd go
kill some time at Putters playing DDR. My mom wanted to do
something with me, too. She finally gave in and said she'd go to
Putters with me if she didn't have to play the whole time. Sure, I
don't care. She can come if she wants to.
She tried it and did average for a beginner. She said it was fun
and after I played a few at my level, we played again and I could
tell an improvement right away. I know she's not going to get into
it and play a lot, but at least she had fun doing it.
We got home and then I drove my dad to the mall to see the movie.
It was actually better than I thought it would be. It was pretty
interesting. It's not something I'll want to go see again, but it
was sure worth the $1.50. I get tomorrow off, too, but that doesn't
get me any farther to getting a hold of Kristen. I guess I'll have to
wait and see what tomorrow brings.
