Half of the test 11/7/2003
Today was the day I was scheduled to take the hardware half of the A+ Certification exam. I woke up and, what a surprise, nothing good to eat. My mom says that if I don't like what she buys, I have to go buy stuff for myself. I went out and bought Smacks cereal and strawberry Pop Tarts. On the way back, I got biscuits and gravy from Dari Mart and decided the cereal would be for later days. I went and had Pop Tarts and cereal today anyway, lol. I'm such a dork.

Andrea called and needed to be picked up from work. My dad was on the computer with my mom on his lap and they asked if I'd go get her. I said I was going to the bathroom. I took a while and when I came out, my parents were still sitting there. I asked why they were still sitting there and not getting Andrea and they said they forgot. Then they started talking more about what they were doing on the computer so I just said I'd go get her, even though I didn't want to. My dad said, "Good. We didn't want to, either." My closing statement right before I left was that maybe I wouldn't read my book today (the one to help me pass the second test for the certification).

Randy called and wanted to know if he could hang out for a couple hours. I looked at the time and decided I had to leave for my test in a little more than an hour, so I said he could come over and we'd watch the next DBZ movie that he hasn't seen. It's movie #8 which features Broli. He came over and we watched that, then I had to go. I remembered that I didn't know how to get there, so I checked online for directions. The test site was in Corvallis. It took me a good half an hour to get there and since I left late, I arrived 4 minutes before the test began. The website said to be there 30 minutes early, but the lady said that it was okay. It was at an aviation training place, so there were small planes and helicopters around. There was only one other person taking the test, so I signed in and started the 80-question exam on the computer with a 90-minute time limit. Out of a possible 100-900 points, 467 was needed to pass, and I got 616. Some of the questions could have been either one in different situations, so I just picked the one that would be right in the most situations and I probably got those wrong. Oh well, at least I passed. I still have to do the software one and then my certificate will arrive in... 4-6 weeks. Now where have I heard that before? Oh yeah, my license plates. They took 4-6 weeks to arrive. Man oh man did they take forever. Now I'll have to wait that long again for my certificate. Just wonderful.

On the way back, I stopped in Arby's where I used to work before Wal-Mart and got food there. Tammy, the manager, was there and she asked how I was doing. I told her about me being fired from Wal-Mart and why. She said, "Oh brother" to me even getting in trouble for buying pizza on the clock. She wished me luck on my current job search. Oh well, that's it. The rest of my day was boring.

You ate pop-tarts and cereal? Weird.

Good job on the test. Now you only gotta study for the second one! Practice Practice Practice! But leave time for chess. Chess is good.
