Passed the
test! |
12/6/2003 |
On Friday was the dreaded certification test for the
near-2 weeks of training we had. The test was to be on the phones
from 1-5pm completely on our own and answering technical support
calls. Every call would be monitored and graded. Needless to say,
some, if not all of us were nervous. Since some people hadn't had a
chance to even take a call with someone there due to the chaos of 65
employees being hired at once, they allowed us to do mentoring from
8-12, then lunch until 1, and then we'd be tested on the phones. I
already have my computer set up with blue everywhere, like on my
diary. It's even more like my diary than my computer here, because
it has the same picture of Sephiroth for my wallpaper as is the one
on the background of my DD. I'm going to set up the Recycle Bin to
play the sound with Homestar saying "Baleeted!" when I empty it.
The certification went alright. I got a lot of non-technical
phone calls and they were mostly strange, abnormal ones. After it
was done, I went to the guy who QA-d me (quality assurance-d) and he
said I passed. Ben was there and wanted to know what percent I got
so he could see if he did better than I. The guy said he couldn't
tell him, but he could tell me and I could tell Ben on my own time.
I got a 99%! Wow, I wasn't expecting that!
On Saturday we had to go in for overtime and take the written
test. Not just our class, but all of the new hires were there, and
Lloyd was in charge of us. LLoyd is a funny guy. He reminds me of
Bubs. He basically went over all what we learned in training and
explained some of the questions on the test that he felt were
tricky. He said we could take the test whereever we wanted in the
building, and it has 3 floors. We could use whatever resources we
wanted (notes, internet, etc) except for another person. We could
talk, but not about the answers to the questions. He said if he can't
trust us now, he can't trust us when we're working, and he has to be
able to trust the people who work there. If not, he'll find out
sooner or later. I missed 2, which was the most you could miss and
still pass.
On Monday I'll have to be on the phones all day! But at least
they won't be QA-d! |
