First of all, I have all of Muse's real albums. I'm
not talking about EPs, just normal-length albums. Showbiz - 1999,
Origin of Symmetry - 2001, and Absolution - 2003. I found out that
Showbiz and Origin of Symmetry have more than one version. Showbiz
has a 12-song and 13-song version. Origin of Symmetry has an 11-song and 12-song version. The longer versions can only be imported
from Japan. I bought the long version of Origin of Symmetry and
downloaded Showbiz and Absolution, though no one had the long
version of Showbiz. Andrea said she'd want a Muse CD for Christmas,
so I bought her the extended version of Showbiz. Upon looking for
it, I came across a CD by Muse called Arcana and it was dated 1996.
I was really happy to find another of their CDs that I didn't know
about and I was able to buy it used for only $1.25! I just got it in
the mail today. I listened to it and it doesn't sound the same. It
doesn't even sound like the same guy singing. I guessed it could be
because they were first starting out, but it was a little too
different. I checked it out online and after lots of searching, I
found out that the Muse who made Arcana had kinda disappeared after
making it, and another band who used to be called Gothic Plague
changed their name to Muse and that's the one I know and really
like. So I bought a CD and it wasn't even theirs! At least it
wasn't expensive! They do sound cool, not as cool as my Muse, but
they sound a lot like Smashing Pumpkins. At least I have a rare CD.
It says on it "Promotional Copy. Not For Sale." Hmm, I wonder how I
got it, then.
Anyway, I had another lady I was able to give the email address
for feedback to. I helped her out with her problem, of course, and
she was like, "If there was any way I could thank you more in
person..." Now, I'm not one to throw the feedback email address at
anyone who thanks me for helping them out. I reserve that for people
who ask for a way to give feedback about me, but I said to her,
"Well, there is an email address for feedback. I don't like just
giving it to people and being tacky/pushy about it, but you kind of
asked for it indirectly..." and she said, "Yes, I definitely did."
That's cool when that happens.
Aunt Vicki was over today and was pulling out right as I pulled
in. She came back in and asked if I could help her print something
from her floppy disks. She also said that her computer gets all these
popups now and she can't get on the internet because of it. She said
Sis. Michelle tried it and she couldn't get it to work, either. I
said I'd go over and fix her computer and she said that it would be
great. I tried launching Internet Explorer and sure enough, popups
galore. I closed out of them and noticed that the site it was at
was a little strange for a homepage. I asked what page she usually
goes to first was. She said it was Dogpile.com, so I changed her
homepage to that (my homepage is mail.yahoo.com, lol). I noticed
that a bunch of programs were on her computer and when I asked which
of them she ever uses, she only pointed to 3, including the internet.
I started uninstalling all the programs she never used. She had
Mavis Beacon 3 and 8. She had Adobe Acrobat reader 3.1, 3.5, and
4.0. I finally decided to just back up her stuff and wipe her drive
clean. She has probably never had that done and probably never
defragmented before. She has programs on there from when she let her
boyfriend have it for a long time. She doesn't have any way to get
her backup stuff off her computer so I can reformat it, so I
proposed that I take her hard drive home and burn it to a CD, then
get it ready to put Windows back on it and the few programs she
uses. I found out she was using Windows 98, but she also has a CD
for Windows 2000 and didn't even know it. I'm certainly gonna put
that on. It's much more stable. Sis. Michelle overheard me talking
about it and said that she would like if I did the same to hers.
She asked if it would go faster after doing it, and I said it would
be like I put in something 3 times as fast as what she has in it. I
like doing this kind of stuff. The only time I get it is at home
when I'm rushed to finish as soon as possible. Well, gotta go now.
