New Slipknot album! 6/2/2004
Today I awoke with my back, hips, head, and arms hurting. Plus, I was really tired. It wasn't great. I had to get up early to bring my car to Steve's. I did and he jacked it up and said that the bearings on both front wheels needed to be packed and maybe even replaced. He said he'd have to take the wheels and brakes off to get to them and it would take a few hours to do, which was more than he had time to do. He scheduled me for next Monday. Since he'd have to take the brakes off, he said he might as well replace them if they needed it. He said I could drive it, but to stay off freeways when I could. Well, all my job-searching stuff requires freeway driving, so I drove it back home. My mom drove the van there to get the driver-side handle replaced. I had to drive Amy to work in my car, then had to go with my mom in my car to get the van. I got my dad's car from where he works so I could use that once again for job-hunting.

On the radio, I heard a song and the DJ said it was a song from Slipknot's newest album! I cheered in the car, "What! Slipknot has a new album! Yes!" I decided right then and there that I'd go buy it after my job-hunting stuff. I turned in my application to Jim's Electronics and they said they would most likely give me a call since they needed someone. I checked on my applications at a few other places, but they weren't hiring. I went and bought Slipknot - Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses), then headed back home.

When I got home, I immediately started the long process of ripping the songs using EAC and LAME, enforcing them with AQScript, and adding them to my foobar2000 playlist and doing the replaygain on the album setting after picking out the songs that I didn't like.

I got a call from one of the places I applied at, but unfortunetly they do a lot of server work for big corporations and I haven't had very much experience dealing with servers. He said he'd have to train me and that's not something he has time for right now. I'd need the Microsoft Certification, for starters. That's something you have to go to college for, I think. I'll have to look into that. I asked, out of curiousity, how much the pay would have been. He said from $40,000 to $60,000 a year. Heh, that would have been nice. Well, hopefully Jim's Electronics will be easier to get into.

Well, I'm going to go play Legend of Legaia now and wait, probabaly in vain, for Kelli to get on AIM. Later.
