Amy's graduation 6/5/2004
One thing I really hate is when something is abbreviated. It's like it's not worth the long name. Changing "congratulations" to "congrats" just seems to lessen the quality of it, like it's not worth saying the whole thing. Saying "grad" instead of "graduate" is like saying they aren't worth the whole word. Saying "flick" is like saying all that time, work, expertise, and money is only worthy of a one-sylabol word that also has the definition of striking something with the top of one's finger. I think it's degrading how movies, games, and CDs are sold in bulk, even having deals where you can get one free a month, like they are mass-produced with no care involved in making it. I suppose that's the only way the makers can make money, though. It just doesn't seem right to me, though I can't think of any better alternative.

I had a dream that was really short. It was about this guy who got upset really easily all the time and then he was at the hospital and they found that when they had performed a previous operation (that took like years to do), they had forgotten to put back a few of the vertibrae right below his neck back into his spine and that was causing it.

Anyway, today was Amy's graduation. Everyone was getting ready for the party that would follow. My mom's dad and stepmom were visiting from out-of-state for the event. Everyone in our church was invited to the party, of course. I was to make sure the yard looked nice and I got a speech from my dad saying that in the bible, the oldest son got the inheritance, but didn't get it for nothing. He took charge when the father was away and everyone was to do what he said. Well, I did that and told Matt and Ben what to clean up and stuff while I raked up cut grass. My mom kept coming out and telling them to do differently than what I had them do. They did what she said. She wanted the front to look nice before the back did, although my dad said we'd be eating in the back. I was having them pick up the fallen branches that I had cut a few days ago. While raking the wet, heavy grass, the rake broke in half. I hate it when that happens. I've now broken 3 rakes that way. I guess the grass is too heavy for it. Maybe I try to get too much done with each drag of the rake. I had to go out and buy another one.

Kelli got on, finally, but she had to go soon, since her mom wanted to use the computer, but said that she'd be right back. I didn't want to just leave to go to the graduation if she was going to be right back. I had decided to delete the emails (she requested that I delete any emails she sent to me in the past) and I wanted to tell her that I had. I waited for a while, played Legend of Legaia a little, and thought more and more if I should just go. I knew that it took a while for the graduation ceremony to actually start. Then Aunt Vicki pulled into our driveway and I assumed that she was here to pick me up and take me to the graduation ceremony since I wasn't there yet. I soon found out from her that she wasn't here to pick me up because the graduation was over. So that means I missed it. Man, I didn't want to miss it. Well, it was my fault. I just told everyone that I laid down real quick and must have fallen asleep. No one can ever tell the few times that I actualy lie about something, not even Aunt Vicki, who took psychology, and can usually tell when anyone is lying when most people can't. I got a headache and stayed out of the room where most of the people were once the party started. I played the game more and after everyone left, Kelli got back on and told me why it had taken so long. She had to go a few minutes later. Man, there are so many things I want to ask her. I hope she gets on today, but my mom said that I can't be on the PS2 or computer while my grandparents are here. That's a bummer. Well, I'm hungry. I guess I'll go get something to eat in this baren house.
