I started the day out working once again on my Total Annihilation troops. I've finished the first 2 I was working on, so now I started working on 2 more of them but my mom kept coming in and asking if I was doing job-hunting stuff, so I had to keep minimizing my programs and having my job stuff up when she came in. It was annoying. She can be such a pest sometimes. If I start working on a guy, then the game is unplayable until I either remove him or finish him. That means that if I left it how it was and went job-searching, Matt and Ben wouldn't be able to play the game all day. There's no way I could do that. My mom always has to make things difficult. And she says that I make things difficult!Anyway, once I finally got the guy halfway done, but still playable, I headed out to turn in the rest of the applications I filled out. I was craving some buttery popcorn, as well as a time-waster, so I planned on seeing "The Stepford Wives" afterwards. I turned in all my applications, then decided to stop by Ace Hardware to get those 25 8-32 1/2 inch screws for my wheel caps, since I could do the rear ones by myself and it would look cool. 8 is the size, meaning the width, 32 means how many threads, and 1/2 inch means it's 1/2 inch long. I went inside and the lady there could only find that size screw with a flat-head top, instead of Phillips. I hate flat-heads. She asked another guy and he found Phillips ones. I took one out to make sure it was the right size around and it was. I came back and saw Mr. Campbell, the person who lives right behind us. He works there, apparently. He asked if he could help me with something and I said I was good. I bought 25 of them at 7 cents apiece. I went out to my car and realized that I didn't have a screwdriver. I went back inside and borrowed one. When I tried to screw them in, however, they didn't go in all the way because the screw hole wasn't as deep as the screws (that doesn't sound right). I went back and traded them for 3/8 inch ones. I tried those and they were too small around. That didn't make sense. I went back and saw that I had accidentally gotten 6-32 instead of 8-32, and had put the 8-32 ones that I tried before into the 6-32 box. My bad. I told the lady and she said she'd sort them out. I got a 8-32 3/8 inch one and tried it. It fit and was the right length, so I went back inside and screwed on the wheel caps on both rear wheels. They look better now. I had to return the screwdriver.
After that, I went and saw the movie after having a crisp beef burrito at Taco Time in the food court. The movie was alright. It's not something I'd want to see again. Now, "The Chronicles of Riddick" is definitely something to watch again. Kelli said she's going to see that with her friends today. I wish I could go to a movie with her again. I wish I could do a lot of things with her again. Oh well. Things change, something she likes reminding me of.
While my dad was on the computer downstairs and the one upstairs in my sisters' room wasn't available, I was sitting on the porch swing and just gazing off. There's a mountain/hill range that you can see past the trees. My youngest brother, Ben (12), was attacking the monstrous blackberry bush by the burn pile, and my other brother, Matt (15), was upstairs in our room and calling him. They both have birthday money and were going to go shopping with it after dinner. They will most likely get a Lego thing by putting their money together. He was asking him what he wanted to do before dinner. I was just sitting there thinking about how close they are. They play everything together. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King game, Legos, Total Annihilation, Heroes of Might and Magic, as well as all their things they make up outside in our 2-acre yard. It always involves having imaginary bad guys and them being on the same team. When we had the trampoline still, they would play things on that all the time as well. They always build things with Legos and make up all kinds of things with them. Sometimes Catie (14) plays Legos with them. They have this game outside on the Campbell's swing, hung from a tree branch, where Matt swings while Catie stands in front of him and hits a tennis ball to Ben who is behind Matt. The tree branch hangs over a small hill, so the swing swings up the hill. Ben always stands up there and hits the tennis ball back. Matt tries to get it. There are no points. No one wins. They just play. That's how they like it. When Matt and Ben play any game, they more often choose to be on the same team against a computer player instead of being against each other. I never understood that because I always had the most fun against someone else. Maybe that's part of my competitiveness and wanting to be the best at things. If they like being on the same team, though, I suppose that's something to admire.
Anyway, I was sitting on the porch swing and thinking about all this, and wishing how I could just freeze time. It would be cool if everything stayed like this and no one got older or moved out or anything. I really despise any thoughts that come to my head about Matt and Ben drifting apart in the future due to things in life. I don't want to see that happen. I've always thought highly of how well they bond and how they can always find something to do together and never ever get tired of being around each other. I'd never want that to be broken up. I'd be willing to give up my future of getting a good computer job and finding some female to spend my time with if I could freeze time and keep Matt and Ben close forever. Besides, it's not like there is any shred of an indication that I'll find someone who has special feelings for me anytime soon, if at all. Ah well. Time to watch X-Files.
